René Crevel (French: [kʁəvɛl]; 10 August – 18 June ) was a French writer involved with the surrealist movement. Crevel was born in Paris to a family of Parisian bourgeoisie. He had a traumatic religious upbringing. [clarification needed] At the age of fourteen, his father committed suicide by hanging himself.
